Profile Summary

I bring together a unique blend of logical design thinking and artistic flair to craft simple, intuitive, and interactive design solutions across type architecture, production design, web, and other interactive media. My approach is firmly rooted in user-centric, needs-driven design principles.

I am an award-winning Senior Type Architect, Art Director, and Graphic Designer with over 20 years of professional experience in both studio and in-house settings, spanning corporate and non-profit sectors. My expertise includes type design, logo and branding architecture, advertising, music packaging, large-scale indoor/outdoor communication design, production design, web graphics, TV commercials, and storyboarding. I am highly efficient with deadlines, team scheduling, staff management, and creative mentorship. I'm eager to learn new techniques and grow alongside a forward-thinking creative team.

Experience

With two decades of experience in production design, digital type design, and title design, I have designed over 100 fonts in Malayalam, widely used by leading newspapers, magazines, advertising agencies, and the film and television industries worldwide. I have also designed a font in the African script “Shumom,” several fonts in South Indian languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and one in Tibetan.

I served as Art Director for the magazine Chuvarezhuthu, where I developed a distinctive style of title design for each article, allowing me to experiment with various aesthetic approaches to reflect the article’s essence. Many of these experimental designs later evolved into full-fledged digital typefaces.

As a production designer, I have led creative efforts for major cultural and entertainment events including the International Food Festival, Light & Sound Show by Soorya, Goan Food Festival, Soorya Film Festival, Pankaj Udhas’ Ghazal Show, and Sharon Prabhakar’s Pop Magic concert.
